See your child or teen's confidence grow as reading and spelling become easy!

We specialize in teaching struggling readers to decode the English language.

In order to become fluent readers and good spellers, students need strong foundational skills in phonological awareness, phonics and fluency.

Our private reading tutors use multisensory, evidence-based instruction, including Orton-Gillingham methods and materials, to teach students the skills they're missing.

Watch your student's confidence soar as their reading improves and spelling becomes easy!

The Best Tutor for Your Child - Over Zoom

Our 1-on-1 online literacy lessons  match your child with the right tutor for their needs and personality, not just the closest one.

With flexible scheduling daytimes, evenings, weekends and while traveling, Zoom makes it easy to fit in more frequent sessions. More sessions means faster progress and a quicker path to catching up to peers.

Lessons stay active and engaging with multisensory activities, phonological “word games” and decodable books so your child  experiences the thrill of being able to read right away.

The result? Kids who are happy, motivated and making measurable gains in reading and spelling.

Our Guarantee: Try it  for a week. Love it, or it's on us.

What Sets Our Private Reading Tutors Apart?

We don’t use outdated methods like guessing words from pictures or leveled readers.  Our tutors are trained in the Science of Reading and use systematic, explicit, data-driven instruction focused on phonological awareness, phonics, morphology, fluency and spelling rules - the building blocks of confident reading and spelling.

Every tutor on our team is current or future educator, speech-language pathologist or linguist with specialized training in the Science of Reading. They work one-on-one with your child, choose materials that fit their needs, and use decodable books to encourage accurate reading from Day 1.

Our tutors are trained to support students who have been diagnosed with dyslexia (including phonological, orthographic, surface and "stealth" dyslexia) or with a specific learning disability (SLD) in the areas of reading and writing. We also work with a lot of students who simply missed out on reading instruction during COVID or for whom school-based instruction just hasn't worked.

What Sets Our Private Reading Tutors Apart?

We don’t use outdated (but still very common) methods to teach students to read.  We don't teach students to guess at words based on pictures or context clues and we don't use leveled readers.

Instead, our private reading tutors are highly trained in the Science of Reading. We use systematic, explicit, data-driven instruction and focus on phonological awareness, phonics, and fluency - the foundational skills students need in order to become fluent readers and good spellers. Plus, we use decodable passages and books that encourage students to sound words out rather than guess at them.

We offer high-intensity tutoring, three to five times per week, so you can move past the reading and spelling struggles. We want your student to get caught up to their peers and “graduate” from our program as quickly as possible!

Our Families

We work with families across the US and abroad. Many find us through referrals from friends, classmates and trusted psychologists.  This trust leads to strong bonds between students and tutors.  Even after "graduating" from our program, many stay in touch,  and share updates, vacation photos and holiday cards.
